Think health rather than thinness
Still today, with so much attention given to a woman’s weight, it’s not surprising that it has become a real obsession for many. More than half of the women who have a healthy weight still want to be thinner. And some who have excess pounds are ready to do anything to lose them.
Losing weight is not the only way to improve your health: quitting smoking or learning to manage your stress better are excellent ways to live better. Eating less fat, eating healthier foods such as fruits, vegetables, and milk products, walking a little more every day—all of these changes, even in the absence of weight loss, go a long way to improving your health over the long term.
Remember that there is no such thing as an ideal weight and that a healthy weight varies from one person to the next depending on body size and bone structure. Set realistic goals and give yourself some time. What’s important is not being thin at any cost, but rather being healthy and feeling good about yourself. Now that’s VITALITY!
