8. Water...is that all there is?

For our bodies to function properly, it is important to stay well hydrated every day. But is drinking 6 to 8 glasses of water the best solution to meet our daily requirements?

Without a doubt, water is an excellent way to stay hydrated, but other liquids may be just as effective. Tea, natural mineral
waters
, herbal teas, sugar-free sparkling waters and milk all represent interesting alternatives. Water is also found in the foods we eat, most particularly in fruits and vegetables. Watermelon, for example, contains over 90% water.

Beware of liquid calories
To avoid surplus calories, drink intelligently and make good choices. Soft drinks, sports drinks, and fruit punches and cocktails all contain a significant amount of sugar.
