Walk up to the store for a change. You know you don't need to start up the car and drive just a couple of blocks for a jug of milk. Walk there and back. Your heart will thank you!

Whenever I crave a treat or a dessert, I always try to make it a healthy one. That way I won’t get hungry soon after. I either make myself a milk or rice pudding, or have some custard or plain yogurt and sprinkle on a few berries.

I’ve always tried to lose weight because I thought I was too big until the day I consulted a dietitian. She told me that depriving myself like I was could result in even more weight gain! Now, I eat well and don’t try any fad diets…they just don’t work!

I followed a very restrictive diet in the past. I didn’t believe those who said I’d gain the weight right back because my metabolism would go into survival mode. Well, I lost 10 pounds, but I gained 15 two weeks later! Now, I eat healthy and exercise…and I maintain my weight!

You would never start your car to drive a long distance only to see it was on "E" and say to yourself, great let's get going!. Do you think you are going to make it to your goal destination, I think not. Same with Breakfast. You can't ask your body to work hard when you have not given it any fuel in the morning. So if you want to be your best, eat breakfast everyday, always.

I pack my lunch and snacks for the next day the night before so I'm not tempted to grab something quick during the day that is not a good choice. Plus it's easier for me to be on my way in the morning!
