Breakfast the most important meal of the day, Mom wasn't kidding when she used to say that when we were kids. After skipping breakfast for years I decided that I would get up half an hour earlier so I could eat breakfast. Well I can't believe that difference it has made .I 'm no longer starved by ten and seem to have more energy and to top it all off I have lost 4 pounds. It pays tto listen to Mom.

No time for breakfast? I have a healthy yogurt smoothie every morning that is fast and easy to make. The night before going to bed, I put a scoop of protein powder in the blender along with a heaping tablespoon of milled flax seed and another tablespoon of wheat germ. Then in the morning, I add 1.5 cup of skim milk, a cup of low-fat yogurt, and a cup of frozen fruit from the freezer (favorites include blueberries, blackberries and raspberries). Mix for about 20-30 seconds, and it is done.

I used to go to work without eating breakfast. After visiting my mother, who eats healthy food, she served me with plain yogurt, covered with fresh/frozen fruits, nuts, and I added maple syrup for flavor. I feel so much better and my tummy isn't upset like it used to be. I also have lots more energy in the mornings since introducing this remarkable change.
