When you have established what is a good habit, you also need to establish how to stick to it. Set yourself up for success. Pack a lunch every day that includes healthy foods, make an appointment for exercise, and give it priority. You have to make the committment to yourself and don't let these habits slip.

I have always been a picky eater, so have never been able to follow any of the fad diets. Instead, I try to eat smaller portions and choose the healthy foods that suit my individual palate.

DIETS ARE TOTALLY USELESS.DON'T EVEN TRY,YOU'LL JUST SET YOURSELF UP FOR FAILURE OR WORSE (PUT ON MORE WEIGHT). AS SOON AS YOU SAY YOUR ON A DIET ALL YOU DO IS THINK ABOUT FOOD. EAT WHAT YOU LOVE JUST TAKE YOUR TIME AND ENJOY IT. YOU WILL FIND THIS WAY YOU EAT MUCH LESS, BE HEALTHIER AND PROBABLY LOSE WEIGHT AND FEEL MUCH BETTER. ONCE YOU START TO FEEL BETTER YOUR ENERGY WILL BE HIGHER AND OVERALL YOU WILL START TO LOOK AND FEEL BETTER ALL AROUND.

As indicated in Point 7, fad diets are not good for you in the long run. I struggle with my weight but try to maintain good eating habits. The one thing I do which seems to help me is to basically eat the same thing for breakfast, morning snack, lunch and afternoon snack. By eating the same good for you food for these four areas each day, I find I don't eat a lot of "junk".

I often serve salad for supper. Making sure that there is protien in the salad - i.e. broiled boneless chicken breast or chuncks of cheese or sometimes toasted walnuts or pecans. I always try to keep the salad colourful with lots of fruit and veggies. Grapes halved, strawberries sliced, carrots shredded, colourful greens, blueberries, whatever is in the fridge. Dressings are always homemade with flavoured vinegars or juices and yogurts. Serve this in an oversize colourful salad bowl which

I have been on the weight rollercoaster my whole life. I have been successful losing significant amounts of weight but have never been able to keep it off. This time I know it will be different. How? I am not calling this a "diet" because that has the connotation of something you start and stop once you reach your goal. I am on a life long journey. Although there will be some celebrations along the way, my journey will only be over when I draw my last breath, content

Fad diets only encourage your weight to go up and down. Plus they are usually not balanced or even healthy. Portion control and exercise are the best, tried and true method. Just cut back on the amount you eat, enjoy your food and find something active you like and will stay with !
