Whenever eating out, I always substitute salad for the fries. Even if the menu doesn't offer salad OR fries, if you ask you can usually get salad instead.

Don't think of foods as 'Good' or 'Bad'. When people give into cravings for 'Bad' foods, guilt and the feeling that they've blown it can spiral into a binge. Instead, try to think of foods as 'Smart' or 'Not Smart'. It you've had a good breakfast, that jumbo muffin at mid-morning coffee isn't so smart, especially if you haven't been physically active. If you've been busy with yardwork, a healthful mid-afternoon snack can give you the boost to keep going.

It's the little things. I try to take a bottle of water out with me so if I get thirsty i'm temped my the pop in the gas station. I also take a health snack ie. granola bar, little bagy of carrots ect. so i'm not tempted by a quick fix of chocolate or somthing unhealth.
