rather than having 2 or 3 large meals in a day, have 6 small meals every day. Also get lots of exercise.

I try to snack healthy by doing just little things like adding bran buds to our yogourt and cereal. I add natural bran to meatloaf, meatballs, pancakes, etc. I cut up veggies & leave them in a container in the fridge so when the kids are hungry before dinner they can munch on veggies instead of junk food.

I try to ensure I always have vegetables and fruit available that I really like to eat, so I am not tempted by other snacks.

In the eveing, when I am making lunches for the next day, I also make healthy snacks for myself to take with me. Some choices I make are carrots, cucumbers and cherry tomatoes, grapefruit or a cheesstring( yes, cheese string, you kids snack. It is a small portion of cheese and it is already wrapped and ready to go). For me, this a great head start in getting my fruit and veggies in the day. The key to this working, is being organized. You won't be tempted to pick up fast food .

I like to eat fruit as a snack whenever I am hungry between meals.I have it ready in the fridge so all I need to do is grab it and I am satisfied until lunch or dinner. The key is to have things like pineapple and strawberries already cut up so there are no excuses!!!

When I feel like a snack I have a glass of cold water and a piece of low fat cheese and a few walnuts.
