start when your children are babies. go out for walks with them, go to the park, go swimmimg. you really can do anything! everything that you do will also help you loose the weight you gained while you were pregnant. do it for your kids, because they really are the most important. it gives you a chance to bond and teach them things about the world around them. most importantly being active is good for your kids and you because if you want them to grow up healthy, strong and smart

I have been weight training for many years, and tried to figure out a way to get my kids into fitness. I took each of them to the gym, and purchased a family membership. they have a rock climbing wall which my youngest son loves, and my oldest does his own routine. I make it a priority to take them on my day's off so we all enjoy a healthier more active lifestyle together. It was a matter of just taking them, and letting them experience the different things they offer.

Now that I'm a mother of two young children - a 2 and 3 year old, I am realizing that mommy must be more conscious of what she does, each and every day. They are like little sponges! Copying my every move, listening to what I say and of course watching what I eat, plus eating what I prepare for them. This is a feat that all mothers experience. The best way for me to maintain a healty weight and lifestyle, is to not forget that I have two precious children who look up to me and learn from me

Maintaining a healthy weight and lifestyle is not done through starving yourself nor through dieting. It is through changing your poor habits into good habits and making those good positive habits a lifestyle. Children learn through the power of example. When a child sees and participates on a daily basis a positive healthy lifestyle, that is what the child will usually carry those habits with them and follow in doing themselves

I'm 43 and I have four teenaged sons. For most of my life, and all of theirs, I've been working out regularly in my living room every morning. It's as much a part of my routine as packing lunches every morning! After my workout I walk the dog rain, snow or shine. Pets are a great motivator for getting outdoors when you'd sometimes rather not. The workout only takes about 20-25 minutes and the walk another 15-20, but it's such a boost to my self esteem and my healthy body image.

Hello,I grew up with a mom who continually went on every diet n the book and was constantly worried about her weight - still is. As her daughter, I mirrored that and consequently suffered from an eating disorder for many years. I now have two beautiful boys and although the 'struggle' will always be there, I look at my boys and realize what I have overcome and will continue to overcome. We eat very healthy in our household, but that does not mean that I do not allow treats from time to time.
