I was a mid-morning bad snack demon, ravenous by 10:30 and grabbing 2 chocolate bars almost daily! Then I started eating protein at breakfast. Now I sail through the morning and am quite satisfied with a peice of fruit and a low fat yougurt at mid-moring break.

I love creamy salad dressings. I have found a satisfying substitute for the commercial dressings which are often high in fat or just 'low cal' watered down versions. Top greens or beans or crunchy fresh vegetables or fruits or berries with a tablespoon or two of low fat or 0 % fat plain yogourt. Splash on your favourite vinegar or squeeze on some fresh lemon or lime juice. Garnish with unsalted nuts, low fat granola or dried fruit.Voila! A salad fit for a queen! Variety is the spice of life

I find if you feel like a snack and it is much too late in the evening, try brushing your teeth. If you brush your teeth you are less likely to want to eat after and the food won't be as tasty making you eat less.

I used to get tired and lack energy around 10:00 am every morning. I would then grab some cookies or whatever else was around. Once I started having protein at breakfast, I was fine until lunch. A grilled cheese sandwich (on whole grain bread and grilled in olive oil) is my favourite breakfast.

I find that if you eat a hearty BKFST, LUNCH & DINNER, you will not have too much problem skipping snacks to fulfill your desire to snack in between meals.

So, that I don't snack unhealthly at night I brush my teeth right after dinner and keep a glass of water with a slice of lemon by me with whatever I am doing that night. The just brushed feeling turns me off snacking . Sometimes the brain mistake hunger for the sensation for thirst, so drinking the water helps too
